“My son visited LVDC last year and was so changed by the experience, I just wanted to thank everyone there for giving him something so precious and to wish you all well with your wonderful work”
There are many opportunities to help and learn while volunteering with LVDC.
Musoma is a beautiful lakeside town. There is a fascinating local market selling everything from spices to locally made baskets and clothing. Boat trips to the islands of Lake Victoria are offered. The West Gate of the Serengeti is within easy reach of Musoma and there are local safari tour groups who will organise everything for you.
LVDCS helped to build volunteer accommodation within our friend and LVDC director’s home.
There are many hotels at very reasonable rates.

There are various routes you can take. Some people like to combine their trip with a visit to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro or perhaps take the opportunity to go on safari. It is possible to fly into/out of Zanzibar combined with an internal flight to Mwanza then a beautiful bus trip to Musoma. You can now apply on-line for a VISA to enter Tanzania. There are different classifications depending on the type of visit you are making. At present they range from a visitor visa costing $50 suitable for a short fact finding visit to a working visa costing $250. Please get in touch with us before travelling for further advice.
