LVDC teaches young people a variety of vocational skills in order to prepare them for the world of work. The courses offered change over time in order to reflect the changing needs and demands of the local workplace.

Inclusive education

A recent development is the introduction of a teacher training facility to educate existing Primary, Secondary and Vocational Education teachers in best methods of integrating children with disabilities into the traditional classroom environment. This will be managed by the Open University of Tanzania along with a teacher training college and a vocational teacher training institution.
